Aaaaarghhh. Not a school reunion! This could be your last chance to see all those old mates. Whether you were a good kid at school or a “schooligan”, we want to see you.
Heres the plan : We would like about 300 people to attend this. What do we need? With some eight months to go, we need twenty registrations per month (thats only one per day)
We have CLOSE TO 100 people keen already that we know of AND heaps more are threatening to turn up. We need you to register TODAY – ASAP! Register for yourself and a mate. Share accommodation.
So many people are talking about this and lots have booked time off, BUT we need registrations!
Let us know where to find people or who you have found. There’s so many names when you start reading the roll.
Email us URGENTLY and advise who you have forwarded this website to and whether they are keen to attend.
How will you know if you qualify? If you got your “Gold Card” in the last two to three years or are getting it in the next four years – you’re in!
Or you could take a trip down memory lane and read the old names from your college years on the school roll page. Did you know in 1972 there were about a 1,000 pupils at Horowhenua College?
Did you also know that Fraser Campbell, at age 38, was the youngest principal in New Zealand?
Did you even know that Horowhenua College may have been the first college in NZ to have mufti for all 7th form students?
Please note: If you left during a school year, your name may not appear here.
Have a look at 3rd,4th, 5th, 6th and 7th form rolls. There are quite a few more names to be added.
You may have left before your classmates. If you were at college around 1968-75 you are more than welcome to attend. Just email your name and we will add it to the roll.
There’s teachers names, old photos and all sorts to get the old cogs whirring again. Send us some of your photos.
We are looking for a FUN weekend. It doesn’t matter if we end up with 100 or 300+ people.
With less than 240 days to plan this, we need indicative numbers early on so we can make the most of this four day event.
Get on the phone or email to get your mates to register.
We really hope overseas people can attend by March 2022. There’s a lot of kids in Oz that would surely enjoy a trip back to Levin and Waitarere Beach.
We’d like to remind you that a few things have changed a bit:
As we will be at Waitarere Beach for parts of this weekend, please observe the following:
What do I bring? Firstly, yourself. Partners are welcome too.
We will have space for caravans and campervans with amenities available.
(Levin + Waitarere Motorcamps and other sites)
Bring your bike / e-bike, walking / running shoes, golf clubs and tennis racquet and bikini or budgie smugglers. Levin has an indoor heated pool for those who want to hit the water.
You could swim at the beach!
Registration cost: $50. Being $25 for registration and $25 towards the event on Thursday night or the Friday night function. All café meals / drinks are pay as you go.
We need HELP!
Can you help us find students and old mates?
We need at least two people from each year to help us spread the word and ensure as many as possible people attend.
3rd Fiona Wilson plus we need another two people
4th Chris Wisnofski and Pauline Carter
5th Rod Baker plus we need another
6th Graham Brooker plus we need another
7th Form Help! We need two people
Email us if you want to be a convenor for your form year.
We would also like a few “teachers”. Someone with the following ability:
A “music teacher” to remind us of what was “hip” in 1972 and introduce a couple of singalong songs.
A “history teacher” to briefly recall local and world events (Vietnam War / price of petrol/ what were the movies?)
We also need some MC’s to add a bit of humour to each evening event.
Email us! We’d love to include you and welcome your input.
