UPDATE: October In 1997 our reunion was attended by 300 teachers and students. It was amassive weekend that most people still remember.
This Labour weekend, how about doing a ring around or sending a few emails over to get your friends on board with this.
Aaaaarghhh. Not a school reunion! This could be your last chance to see all those old mates. Whether you were a good kid at school or a “schooligan”, we want to see you.
Thanks to everyone who has so far registered. Now we need to know who your “Plus One” is? Who is that kid you were mates with or still hang out with that you would like to bring along?
The feed back we have is that close to 200 people are keen so far. With only FIVE months to go, we need 20-30 registrations per month (one per day) so we can firm up our bookings. Please – REGISTER TODAY to help us make this the bestest, funnest event ever!
Who’s registered so far? Check out the UPDATE page. Get your name on here so that others will be encouraged to register, simply fill out the form
If we have to cancel, 100% REFUND
GUYS We have a problem. The girls are registering faster than you. There’s even a few people asking …Is “HE / SHE” going to attend? There’s obviously a few popular guys and girls from school days that people want to meet up with again ! So, have you registered yet??
So many people are talking about this and lots have booked time off. Kids from Oz are keen to get across the ditch.
Lost and found : Give us some names of mates you would like to see again. There’s so many names when you start reading the roll. We have someone looking for Robert Mangin.
We’re detecting that a few students have hooked up again with old flames. If you’re single, maybe you just might renew an old friendship. “What goes at the Reunion stays at the Reunion”
If you got your “Gold Card” in the last two to three years or are getting it in the next four years – you’re in!
Or you could take a trip down memory lane and read the old names from your college years on the school roll page. Please note: We have tried to list all the names possible but apologise if your name is missing. Contact us and it will be added.
Did you know in 1972 there were about a 1,000 pupils at Horowhenua College?
Did you also know that Fraser Campbell, at age 38, was the youngest principal in New Zealand?
Did you even know that Horowhenua College may have been the first college in NZ to have mufti for all 7th form students?
There’s teachers names, old photos and all sorts to get the old cogs whirring again. Send us some of your photos.
With less than 150 days to plan this, we need indicative numbers early on so we can make the most of this four day event.
We really hope overseas people can attend by March 2022. There’s a lot of kids in Oz that would surely enjoy a trip back to Levin and Waitarere Beach.
We’d like to remind you that a few things have changed a bit:
As we will be at Waitarere Beach for parts of this weekend, please observe the following:
What do I bring? Firstly, yourself. Partners are welcome too.
Find space for your caravan or campervan at Levin + Waitarere Motorcamps.
Bring your bike / e-bike, walking / running shoes, golf clubs and tennis racquet and bikini or budgie smugglers. Levin has an indoor heated pool for those who want to hit the water.
You could swim at the beach!
Registration cost: $50. Being $25 for registration and $25 towards the event on Thursday night or the Friday night function. All café meals / drinks are pay as you go.
We need HELP!
Can you help us find students and old mates?
We need at least two people from each year to help us spread the word and ensure as many as possible people attend.
3rd Fiona Wilson plus we need another two people
4th Chris Wisnofski and Pauline Carter
5th Rod Baker plus we need another
6th Graham Brooker plus we need another
7th Form Help! We need two people
Email us if you want to be a convenor for your form year.
We would also like a few “teachers”. Someone with the following ability:
A “music teacher” to remind us of what was “hip” in 1972 and introduce a couple of singalong songs.
A “history teacher” to briefly recall local and world events (Vietnam War / price of petrol/ what were the movies?)
We also need some MC’s to add a bit of humour to each evening event.
Email us! We’d love to include you and welcome your input.
